As the official international humanitarian agency of the U.S. Catholic community, CRS provides humanitarian relief and development assistance in eight major programming fields. First responding to the call to help rebuild a shattered Europe during World War II, we have since expanded our programming expertise to provide relief in times of disaster, while also laying the foundation for developing stronger communities for the future. Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli (CISP)
The Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli (CISP), or International Committee for the Development of Peoples, is a European Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) set up in 1982 and formally established in 1983. CISP is based in Italy. It acts in the international cooperation field and in the fight against social exclusion. Since April 1997, its approach and goals are summarized in the Declaration of Intents and the Code of Conduct for Cooperation Programmes. One of CISP's main missions is to participate in the planning of development policies through a constructive dialogue with the principal actors (donors, beneficiaries, partners and local institutions) involved in their preparation and implementation.
