History:
El-Shorok Association for Community Development(SACD) was established in the middle area governorate – Palestine – and registered from the Palestinian Ministry of Interior - 7138 at year 2001.
SACD is concerned with the children care fields, which providing educational and healthy services to the ignored and damaged children in order to integrate them in the society, also it is giving psychosocial consultations for the children and their families.
Vision:
Shorok Association for community development through its leadership role to contribute to the care and development of the capacities of marginalized children with learning difficulties, mental retardation and problems with speech , social and psychological problems as well as their families to develop and improve human development and good citizen to access to enable sustainable in the Middle area governorate – Gaza strip .
Mission:
Shorok Association for community development, an independent, non-governmental and non-profit, aims to nurture and develop the capacities of disadvantaged children and their families in the Middle area of Gaza strip - through capacity-building programs of the association and the relevant partners, information , applied research and child care. The association is committed during its work by human rights principles of justice, equality and non-discrimination, participation and empowerment of target groups.
Objectives:
Overall Objectives (Strategic Goals):
1- Developing the capacity building of Shorok Association, workers and the relevant partners.
2- Contribute to improve the decisions and policies for the care and development of children in the middle area governorate by the applied researches.
3- Contribute to the care and development of children with learning difficulties, mental retardation, speech problems, speech and mental health.
4- Contribute to improving the level of education and community outreach for children.
5- Contribute to the provision of humanitarian relief aid to children.
