Bet-El-Noor Eye (ophthalmic) Care Center provides its services to the public through its eye clinic at the Center which is supervised by a specialized doctor and an optician. The Center's program includes a free of charge eye check up to all Bethlehem students: that is to (55000) male and female through field visits to these schools done by the specialist in coordination with the Education Department and the UNRWA office in the Bethlehem district. The specialist tries to identify eye illness cases through her field visits to schools especially among children between 3-18 years old due to the importance of early diagnosis of eye illness cases so as accelerate treatment and to protect them from the danger of early eye sickness. Cases found to be in need of the eye doctor are transferred to the Center's clinic and are thus re-examined by the optician and the eye specialist doctor if needed. At the Center, eye optical glasses are produced for those in need of such glasses at cost price. The check up cost is very symbolic, and social cases are treated free of charge.
