Launching an educational project supportive for students with special needs in South Nablus schools

The project seeks through its activities to reduce the dropout rate among children with special needs, especially females of them in primary stages by targeting 10 primary schools in the southern of Nablus Governorate, especially marginalized areas of it. In addition, it aims to raise awareness among parents and the community and the school to the importance of teaching students with special needs and provide them with mechanisms for how to deal with this category, and through workshops for teachers of inclusive education, training workshops for parents, training workshops for friends of students with special needs and tutorial sessions to strengthen students with special needs in core subjects, in order to support them within the school and help them in their homework.

This project is based on results of research done by WAFAC, which indicated that there are clear signs of rights violations of children with special needs in the educational field, and the existence of ignorance among parents and lack of knowledge on how to teach their children, thus because of their careless and not giving them enough attention like their healthy sisters and brothers.
