PNGO launched film “WAITING SO LONG”

The waiting has been too long, waiting not in return for our sacrifices but to continue our way to build and develop.

Today and after two years of Cairo donor conference on the reconstruction of Gaza Strip, still nothing has been changed on the ground. Gaza Strip is still under siege, the economic situation getting worse and worse, the commercial crossings are still closed, and the real reconstruction process obviously has not begun yet.

On this occasion, the Palestinian NGO's Network (PNGO) has produced a three- minutes short film entitled "WAITING SO LONG". The film includes a rap song embodies the Palestinian people's long waiting for the reconstruction process after a fierce war destroyed the human lives of  young and elderlies, not to mention the houses, schools and even plants, under the continued blockade of Israeli occupation to Gaza Strip.

The film reveals the suffering of families living in uninhabitable mobile caravans with no access to water and electricity. It also shows the scenes of destruction with ruins and rubble of the destroyed houses.

The film conveys a message to the states sponsored the donor conference as well as to the International community to take the responsibility and actually begin of Gaza reconstruction process, and to fulfill all obligations that were agreed upon at the donor conference in Cairo.

Among waiting and hoping, there is a step toward a life of peace, freedom and dignity.
