Fundraising Officer
 
The NGO Development Center (NDC) is a non-profit Palestinian organization whose main function is to empower non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to respond to the needs of the poor and marginalized in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. In line with NDC’s mandate, NDC is currently seeking to fill the position of Fundraising Officer to be based at its office in Al-Ram. 
Post Title:      Fundraising Officer
Reports to:    The Director or his Designee
Location:        NDC office in Al-Ram
 The position of Fundraising Officer is part of NDC’ Resource Mobilization & Communication Unit team. The Fundraising Officer will work closely with the Fundraising and Communication Manager based at NDC main office in Al-Ram and will support the development and implementation of NDC’ Fundraising Strategy in coordination with program units. In particular, the FO will be responsible for identifying potential funders and implementing strategies, and maintaining donor relationships to raise funds in support of NDC programs and activities.
 
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Participate and assist in the identification of needs and areas of support for NDC’s interventions in line with NDC’s mission, vision, strategies and mandate.
  • Prepare annual plans for fundraising and follows up the implementation of the plan; in line with the fundraising strategy of NDC.
  • Consolidating and expanding the donor base of NDC; Provide support to NDC fundraising committee and NDC senior staff to generate new prospects and gain new donor commitments, and conducting outreach to all potential and current donors, including actively soliciting funds.
  • dentifying prospects and sequencing grant requests to maximize opportunities by expanding the prospect list of funders, conducting prospect research, rating prospects and prioritizing grant requests, developing and managing cultivation activities, meeting with program officers from trusts and foundations to qualify their interest, and conducting prospecting meetings.
  •   Writing grant request proposals, scheduling grant request meetings, document call reports, ensure prompt and professional follow up on grant request meetings, and develop a donor recognition program.
  •  Work closely with the Fundraising and Communication Manager and will be supported by program officers to provide relevant information on NDC work to donors. The FO has direct contact with donors on both fundraising and reporting matters.
  • Draft concept notes and proposals including detailed budgets in a timely and proper manner.
  • Assist in strengthening links and maintaining long term relationships between NDC and donors.
  • Maintain and update NDC’ Donor Management Information System (DMIS).
  • Develop and coordinate new and creative fundraising activities including corporate and individual fundraising, event-based activities and web-based fundraising.
  • In close coordination with the communication team,
    • work with all forms of media, and help produce supporting materials such as posters, brochures, websites and newsletters to promote, market and advertise forthcoming events
    • raising awareness of NDC and its work, at both the local and international level - this may involve giving talks to groups or dealing with the media;
    • preparing mail-shots; correspondence and updates to donors
  • Prepare reports for both donors and board members of NDC.
  • Coordinate, support and manage program related missions to NDC.
  • Implementing effective stewardship; undertake documentation and follow up, prepare donor reports, producing events reports and documentation, and monthly progress reports to direct supervisor.
 
 Desired Qualifications:
  • B.A. in social studies, development, English language or any other relevant fields.
  • Sound knowledge of the NGO Sector, various donors’ funding policies, and development priorities.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience with proven record in working on tasks of a similar nature.
  • Strong communication and writing skills in Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
  • Ability to handle multi-tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer and internet knowledge and skills.
