The purpose of this site is to make resources available, free, to NGOs working in the development or humanitarian fields. We make or find manuals that can help NGOs build skills, and suggest other websites with good resources. We particularly welcome those working alone or in a national NGO in Africa, Asia, South America and the ex-USSR.

NGO Manager
NGO Manager aspires to provide a comprehensive range of nonprofit management services to managers of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including training courses and consultancy, and research on how to improve management capacity building. As of now, the NGO Manager website provides a selection of the best management tools and key articles which are available on the internet free of charge. The NGO Manager’s E-Library currently contains links to more than 300 commented tools and articles.
The website is in response to the fact that NGOs often lack the means to provide adequate management knowledge and training to their managers. In addition, there are relatively few nonprofit support organisations that focus on management capacity building for NGOs, particularly in the South. As a result, the capacity and skills needed for the successful planning and implementation of projects are often insufficient, which can translate into an unsatisfactory impact and overall performance of the NGO.
Arab Human Rights Fund
The idea of establishing an Arab human rights fund was prompted by the desire to: increase resources for human rights protection in a focused and targeted manner, reduce dependence on foreign funding and encourage social justice philanthropy in the region.
The process of establishing the Arab Human Rights Fund (AHRF) started in 2002 with the formation of a four-member Preparatory Committee. This Committee was provided with financial and administrative support from the Ford Foundation. The Committee initiated a series of studies exploring the feasibility of establishing an endowed and sustainable funding agency that is devoted to supporting long-term efforts to promote human rights and the rule of law in the Arab region.
The Committee has met quarterly since 2003 to identify and contract required research, undertake initial assessments of results and establish the legal and practical foundations for the establishment of the AHRF. Encouraged by their findings and enthusiastic support from the field and internationally, the Committee established the AHRF as a registered organization and formed its Board of Trustees in 2006.
