The Palestine International Award for Excellence and Creativity 2009
For the third consecutive year, "The Palestine International Award for Excellence and Creativity 2009" celebrates another group of innovators and outstanding Palestinians. In addition, the Award recognizes Arab, Islamic, and international personalities who have been supportive to the Palestinian cause in all political, economic, and social spheres. The Award reinforces Palestinian identity and promotes living examples of Palestinian citizens who have long been marked by their hard work and creativity and perseverance in defiance of the most challenging difficulties. The Award has thus become an annual event where Palestine presents, with honor and pride, its distinguished sons and daughters. Hence, the Award message is simple but imperative in challenging the conventional perception of Palestinians through highlighting their creative capabilities at the local and international level.
The Palestine International Award for Excellence and Creativity encourages best managerial performances and creativity in Palestinian institutions as well as for individuals. The Award aims to encourage excellence in management and performance. It also seeks to promote a culture of innovation to future Palestinian generations, by presenting living examples and role models of dedication. The Award is based on an initiative by businessman and philanthropist Mr. Sabih Taher Al-Masri, who chose to make it an annual event to honor creative and dedicated individuals in recognition of the important achievements they have achieved.
Under the supervision of the Board of Trustees of the Award, which consists of reputable national figures and community leaders, and with the contribution of its Secretary General Dr. Abdel Malek Al Jaber, the Award has created inspiration for the Palestinians who have lost hope due to aggression, pain, injustice, and internal fragmentation. This work reflects the collective effort and the dream and vision of Mr. Sabih Taher Al-Masri, at a time when creativity had been ignored and neglected.
