Objective of Position:
To undertake the planning, development and delivery of NDC internal and external
communications, including website, members’ journal and other
communications and publications, in liaison with other NDC staff; to contribute to wider policy and communications and NDC work programs.
 
 
General Duties :
 
1.    Overall NDC Management Role: Assist the Manager in developing and implementing NDC policies, procedures and systems. Undertake any duties requested by the Manager. Participate in different committees and studies related to his department.
2.    Plan: Recommend department long-range plans designed to meet NDC goals with budget required; accomplish work within the approved budget.
3.    Organize: Maintain necessary communication and ensure good relations with appropriate external bodies and other departments. Coordinate the activities of divisions. Ensure availability and make most efficient use of human resources, supplies and equipment.
4.    Lead: Delegate authority and set goals. Manage and direct the overall activities of the Department to achieve goals. Make work assignments to staff according to skills and job responsibilities. 
5.    Control: Monitor the performance of the department, ensuring the quality of work and conformance with standards, rules & regulations. Prepare and present reports for the information of the General Manager and the Board of Directors. Monitor performance of staff through regular meetings and work review.
6.    Staff Development: Manage by results, encouraging staff to achieve personal and professional goals. Identify training needs. Ensure safety of staff. Recommend annual staff raises according to performance.
 
 
Specific Duties :
1.          Day-to-day management of the NDC website, including updating and ongoing monitoring, gaining input from other NDC staff as necessary.
2.          To lead the research, planning and implementation of the longer-term development of the site, to ensure it continues to achieve its objectives.
3.          To co-ordinate the production of other internal and external NDC communications, publications and materials, in consultation with other NDC staff.
4.          To contribute to and as required lead the ongoing review and development of NDC member communications to ensure that they best achieve their objectives.
5.          To develop, implement and maintain a “house style” in all NDC written communications.
6.          To develop, implement and maintain, in liaison with other NDC staff and external consultants as required, strong NDC visual branding.
7.          To develop and maintain an NDC photo library for use across a range of communications forms.
8.          To contribute to planning of and arrangements for NDC events, in particular regarding the design and production of materials.
9.          To represent NDC at internal and external events as required.
10.       To support the NDC and external public relations consultants in developing media strategy, drafting press releases, responding to media enquiries and building dialogue with journalists.
11.       To develop, promote and adhere to best practice and to agreed systems and procedures across all areas of work.
12.       To undertake other duties as required commensurate with the level of this post.
 
Internal Relationships and Communication:
Officers and such others as appropriate.
External Relationships and Communication:
Public , suppliers , customers, mediaexternal Auditors and banks.
 
Qualifications:
 
·         Bachelor degree in English Literature, Business Administration  or related field
·         Five years of experience in related function, three years of which in a leading position.
·         Experience in project management cycle.
·         Advanced computer skills in MS office as well as the accounting packages.
·         Professional Reporting skills.
·         Excellent command of English and Arabic languages.
