New UN report highlights bleak economic situation for Palestinians

The economic situation in the occupied Palestinian territory has seen some improvement but remains precarious, particularly in the Gaza Strip, where the continued Israeli blockade undermines prospects for employment and growth, says a new United Nations report.
The International Labour Organization (ILO), in its annual publication on the situation of workers of the occupied Arab territories, attributes the improvement to an accelerated growth rate and a slightly higher rate of employment – roughly 15 per cent in both Gaza and the West Bank.

The Library on Wheels for Nonviolence and Peace, located in Jerusalem and Hebron, offers educational programs and serves as an active library interested in promoting nonviolence and peace for Palestinian children. Founded by the Palestinian Center for the Study of Nonviolence in 1986 and became independent in 1994.
LOWNP developed a variety of ideas to explore the significance of nonviolence and peace tradition in Islam, enhance its practical use at personal, family, school and also at the social level under violent situations. LOWNP has a special interest in nonviolence and peaceful means leading to empowerment for social change and justice.
LOWNP believes active nonviolence is empowering. It’s presence and activities are helping make a positive in the quality of life for thousands of Palestinian families.

Mission: 

Where promising young people aligned to the drive and the vitality and initiative and determination to build and participate in order to crystallize the idea of unifying the spirit of volunteerism, which in turn will elevate youth to lead the bright future by creating a generation of young leaders capable of decision-making and responsibility to work on the development of cultural reality in the Palestinian society.
