History
The Family Defense Society in Nablus is a volunteer-based feminist organization established in 1994. It aims to protect and empower women and children affected by domestic violence. The society is considered one of the leading feminist institutions in Palestine and provides a wide range of services, including psychological support, social counseling, vocational training, and community awareness programs.

One of the society’s most notable achievements is the establishment of the “Safe House” in 1999 in the city of Nablus. This pioneering project in the Arab world is dedicated to protecting girls, women, and their children who have been subjected to violence, offering them a safe and supportive environment to rebuild their lives.

The society’s services are provided by a specialized female staff working in complete confidentiality. These services include receiving cases of abused women, offering psychological and social counseling, organizing awareness lectures and workshops, and conducting training courses for volunteers.
Vision
The Family Defense Society envisions a safe and just Palestinian society where women—especially survivors of domestic violence—are empowered socially, economically, and psychologically. It aims to rebuild confidence, promote independence, and strengthen women's roles through counseling, training, and community awareness. The society values collaboration with institutions to provide comprehensive family support.
Mission
The Family Defense Association empowers individuals, especially women and children, by providing support to break the cycle of violence and promote recovery, safety, and independence.
