Welcome to the NGO Development Center’s first success story publication: Success Palestine. We felt that the summer was a perfect opportunity to take stock of the fantastic contribution of our partners to Palestinian society; and share with all friends of NDC the magnificent work that NGOs do for communities throughout Palestine. Palestinian Civil Society

The Palestinian civil society nuclei started forming almost one hundred years ago in the time of the British Mandate. The beginnings were in the form of civil societies, labor unions, and in the start of political movements. The distinguishing factor in the development process of the Palestinian civil society structures is embodied in the absence of freedom and abnormal social, economic and political conditions.

What is Conflict and Conflict Transformation?

Conflict is a natural part of human life. It exists in all relationships, groups, culture, and every level of social structure. Although conflict is often uncomfortable and energy-consuming, it can be a positive force for change and bring an otherwise stagnant organization or relationship our of dormancy and into new life and vitality. Conflict is a challenge to people at both an individual and group level and can cause growth. It can also be destructive if it is not faced and dealt with in a constructive manner. It can lead to violence or even war.
